Brian is expert in architecture, sustaining natural and cultural heritage, building codes compliance, and project management. He works within complex government-contract accountability and procurement guidelines. Brian’s breadth of professional practice is extraordinary (curriculum vita below). Already a thorough master of French, he is dedicated to perfect literacy in written, academic Arabic, and to fluency in widely-spoken Egyptian Arabic, and to familiarity with Levantine speech. His special talent, expertise, and dedication to saving and rehabilitating cultural resources has been professionally honored, winning two statewide design awards in a three-year span.
Brian was raised in Charleston, South Carolina, a town spectacularly successful at heritage conservation.
Brian has lived in Albemarle County, Virginia, since 1983. He has two children, one of whom attended, and another who is still enrolled, in the County of Albemarle Public Schools. His wife, Elaine, is an honored elementary school teacher for this very system. He has served the County, and the Commonwealth, honorably and effectively.
